Vaughn has retired

This is not “goodbye”, it’s just thanks for the memories.

Far Out ExpeditionS® is retiring. That is to say that while Vaughn hopes to cover a lot more ground in the years to come, he’ll be doing it only with a few friends and family and not with Far Out clients. Oh, and Marcia will just have less typing to do and more time to make Vaughn take her places.

We’ve been so fortunate to meet people from around the world with whom we shared this extraordinary place. The landscape of southeastern Utah is beautiful and its remarkable cultural treasures are unforgettable. All of that has been made so much more special by sharing it all with you. You’ve helped us create stories; memories we’ll carry with us forever.

Thank you to all of our customers, all of our suppliers, all of our supporters. Thank you, clients, for all the humbling thank you notes. Thank you to the authors who’ve shared Vaughn’s interpretations and expertise in their books and articles helping us to build our business with their unexpected publicity. Thank you all for going Far Out with us because you not only supported our earning a living, you helped us maintain the challenge of sharing our small part of the world while fighting to protect it.

So, we may be saying “goodbye”, but please know that we appreciate every day-hiker and every backpacker that has traveled with us. Don’t hesitate to keep in touch should you pass this way again.

Please Note: Vaughn has retired, so we aren’t in business any more.

We are still accepting orders for merchandise featuring the fabulous Far Out ExpeditionS® logo designed by Bluff artist, Joe Pachak.
